Doug Reinbold, P.Eng., LEED AP, is the founder and a senior mechanical engineer with over 35 years of experience in the building and construction industry. His practical experience as a journeyman plumber and gas-fitter provide him with a solid foundation when it comes to mechanical engineering design. He has worked on numerous projects of all sizes and complexities in Canada, the USA, and Australia. Doug’s broad and extensive experience is a valuable resource which will aid in the successful design, construction, and commissioning of any project.
Doug is licensed to practice in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, British Columbia, Ontario, Nova Scotia, Yukon Territory and the North West Territories, as well as in Washington State, California and New Jersey. Doug is a member of multiple professional associations including the Washington State Association of Engineers, the Canadian Healthcare Engineering Society, the Canadian Green Building Council, and other provincial engineering associations. He is a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Accredited Professional.
Jason Edey joined Reinbold Engineering in 2001 as a Principal. He is a senior mechanical designer with more than 29 years of technical experience on projects of various size, complexity, and type. His attention to detail and conviction to quality control ensures that the client receives the best service and product available. Jason is currently the Senior Principal who oversees the design and construction of our seniors and institutional projects in our Toronto office. Jason ensures that all system designs meet or exceed current codes providing the owner with a quality, energy efficient system.
Jason is a member of the International Ground Course Heat Pump Association (IGSHPA), U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), Canada Green Build Council (CaGBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) and a member of American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE).
Chris Schulz is senior project manager in the Calgary office with 20 years experience in the industry. He completed the Engineering Design and Drafting Technology program at Thompson Rivers University in 1998 and has extensive experience designing and managing a variety of commercial, institutional and multi-family low and high rise projects. Chris is a dedicated and knowledgeable team member with a commitment to providing excellence in mechanical design from project start to construction completion. Outside of the office Chris enjoys spending time with his family doing outdoor activities such as hiking and skiing/snowboarding.
Richard Outtrim, M.A.Sc. P.Eng. BEMP LEED AP BD+C is a mechanical engineer and energy modeller who completed a master’s degree in solar thermal engineering. He is the head of Reinbold Engineering’s energy services department and is an ASHRAE Accredited Building Energy Modeling Professional (BEMP). His knowledge of renewable energy systems and cutting-edge green technology has resulted in valuable energy savings for our clients. Richard strives to find cost effective energy saving building systems for each and every one of his projects. He has applied renewable energy technologies in various buildings including multi-unit residential buildings, industrial truck washes, office buildings, and waste water treatment plants.
Richard is currently involved in energy modelling projects for new and existing buildings across North America and is a member of an advisory group for the City of Calgary’s enforcement of the National Energy Code of Canada for Buildings.
Greg Fisher has 20 years of experience as a designer and project manager and is in our Calgary office. Greg’s first experience with building mechanical systems was as an air-balance technician and commissioning agent on commercial and institutional projects. He has leveraged his experience and the knowledge learned commissioning buildings to design efficient and effective mechanical systems without unnecessary complication and cost. He is well versed in Revit and Navisworks and guides our design, drafting, and modelling standards as we strive to continuously improve our service to our clients. Away from the office Greg stays active biking and camping with his family.
Tony Pagnotta is the principal in charge of the Kelowna office, where he is responsible for operations within the British Columbia interior and also assists with projects across Western Canada. He has over 15 years of experience in the mechanical engineering industry. Tony has been involved in every project in the British Columbia interior since our first contract in Kelowna in 2004. He has successfully completed commercial, office, retail, low & high-rise residential, and institutional projects. Tony is committed to finding energy savings in his system designs that not only save energy long term but also are cost-effective to construct and operate. Many of his projects have achieved BuiltGreen and LEED certifications.
Edward Lazar, P.Eng. is a senior mechanical engineer with over 25 years of experience in the building and construction industry. His broad design, construction management, and system commissioning experience in HVAC, plumbing, medical gas, compressed air and fire protection. He has worked in health-care, commercial, institutional and industrial building projects. Edward coordinates and manages projects to ensure they are managed successfully and completed on schedule and budget. Edward’s knowledge and experience in sustainable building design as well as familiarity of the National Building Code, CSA Standards, BC & Alberta Building Codes, ASHRAE guidelines and NFPA ensure accurate and efficient designs.
Michael Raiva, P.Eng. is the Vancouver office manager. He carries more than 17 years in engineering sustainable mechanical systems, project management, and mechanical systems commissioning. Michael’s career includes the completion of projects spanning a diverse range including healthcare, office, education, higher education, mining, waste/water treatment plants, food & retail, correction facilities, and recreation. He has also participated in District Energy System Feasibility Studies on behalf of government agencies. These and other experiences position him well for implementing innovative, total cost-effective and sustainable solutions.
Mohsen Soltani, P.Eng. brings over 12 years of intensive experience in mechanical systems design for residential, commercial, industrial and institutional projects. As a specialist in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems design, he excels in the detailed multidisciplinary coordination of mechanical systems for a variety of residential and mixed-use projects. These include high-rise and mid-rise condominiums, custom homes, and mixed-use components (offices, retail stores, restaurants, schools, tenant fit-ups, etc.).
Mohsen is currently licensed with the Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO) and also a member of the Canada Green Building Council (CaGBC).
Cara Sloat, P.Eng. believes net-zero carbon construction is possible today, and that smart mechanical system design is essential to creating durable, comfortable spaces with best-in-class life cycle costs. She brings more than 15 years of engineering and sustainability consulting experience to our clients through work on new and existing buildings, pursuing Passive House and Net-Zero goals; and also on traditional and high-performance mechanical design for commercial office, retail, restaurant, multi-unit residential, and recreational buildings. She graduated from the University of Waterloo with a degree in Applied Science (Mechanical Engineering), has been a LEED AP since 2007, and participates in Toronto’s ASHRAE and International Building Performance Simulation Association (IBPSA) chapters.
Heric Holmes, P.Eng. is the branch manager of the Edmonton office. He has over 19 years of experience as a mechanical engineer. During his career, Heric has focused his time in mechanical consulting on project design, delivery, and management. he believes providing an integrated design, which focuses on sustainability and operability, is crucial to a successful project. His portfolio of work includes commercial, institutional and industrial buildings in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Heric is the Chapter Technology Transfer Regional Vice Chair for Region XI in ASHRAE.
Jay Stobbe, P.Eng. is an experienced mechanical engineer based in our Calgary office. He has worked on projects within the residential, hospitality, commercial, municipal and data centre mission critical industry sectors. For over a decade he has focused on a wide range of mechanical system designs that delivers practical solutions to our clients. He is a member of APEGA, APEGBC, and ASHRAE.
